About the artist

Known as one of the world’s greatest movie soundtrack composers, Hans Zimmer was born in Germany in 1957. A self-taught musician, he began his career composing jingles in London before joining the Buggles, with whom he produced their famous track, “Video Killed The Radio Star”. He learned to compose movie themes from his mentor, Stanley Myers. It was in this genre that Hans Zimmer quickly established his own style, a fusion of traditional and electronic music. The movie world discovered him in 1988 through Rain Man, his first major success. From that moment on, his talents were enlisted by major Hollywood productions, and he has now produced more than 100 motion picture soundtracks, including: The Lion King, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, The Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean, Madagascar, Batman Begins, Man of Steel, and Interstellar...
