About the artist

Aurélien Cotentin, under his stage name of OrelSan, is a French rapper, actor, director, and screenwriter born in Alençon in 1982. He first found mainstream fame online with his rap “Saint-Valentin”. He released his first album, Perdu d’avance, in February 2009, which was quickly followed by a second, Le chant des sirènes, in September 2011, which went platinum. He released his third album in 2013, in partnership with his best friend Gringe. The album was entitled Orelsan et Gringe sont les Casseurs Flowters. They also directed a film telling their story in 2015: Comment c’est loin. After YouTube, stage, and screen, OrelSan next appeared on TV, in a mini-series entitled Bloqués, broadcast on Canal+. The series was about two flatmates who were a bit lost in life, talking about subjects great and small just to kill time. Orelsan returned as a solo artist in September 2017, posting a video on YouTube, “Basique”, causing a buzz by announcing the upcoming release of his new solo album. On 20 October, he revealed his third solo album, La fête est finie. La Fête est finie is a diamond disc. A few months later, the artist who has been compared to Eminem released Epilogue, a re-release of his album with 11 new tracks.
